Oh, I never show to win. I;ve won enough to know what it's like; rather, I've won enough to know that sinkhole of winning. It's not really an issue of finding a course, though that is difficult in its own right--more like keeping the Moose in training long enough to get him fit. The past three years have been plagued by injuries and bizarre setbacks. Even these past few weeks, he's been laid up. Reacted (a month delayed) to his intranasal strangles vaccine. *sigh*
Emma, My daughter is very competitive and likes to win; I've been trying to convince her to just have a great time, which she tries to do but too often gets that niggling feeling of wanting to win.
Sorry about Moose's health problems. It's so frustrating when you want to ride and the other half is not up to it.
I've always wanted to do a little eventing. Not the big stuff, mind you, but that's what I'd had in mind when we got Toler. Maybe someday.
ReplyDeleteMaybe someday, eh? Find a small eventing show, keep your butt in the saddle and just do it. Don't have to win, just ride it and have a good time.

ReplyDeleteWOW! Great pic.
ReplyDeleteBtw, I knew you and Emma would hit it off as soon as I saw your work ;)
