When the wind blows off the lake, the ice and snow build on the lighthouse...

Plant oils...

This photo was taken in the autumn in the beach sand. As the fallen leaves rot, they leave behind plant oils which mix (or don't mix) with the lake water. The shiny light blue are plant oils, but I'm not sure what the darker aqua color is...

Lots of work...

Always wanted a fence of this type, but too much work for us...and where would we put it???

People in SW Michigan like to go the Beach for the sunset. There are many lighthouses along Lake Michigan. They stand on the pier just waiting and as soon as the sun is gone, so are they...

Something Different...

Viewing other photo blogs, I thought I'd add something completely different today...

Before the snow this fall, Pa and I were walking by the lake and saw this lone fisherman gliding along in the fog...

Driving home from work, I came upon this abandoned fence still standing against the falling snow...

On the Trail

The trail was crisp and hazy...

Love snow...

Last year we rode the snowmobiles to Mackinaw City and near the Mackinac Bridge...

didn't go out very far on the ice though... no life preservers on board...

Missed the blue moon...

I missed the blue moon; too many clouds; It was just a bright spot in the night sky. However, I did get last month's moon in a wonderful blue sky.
